I'm of a similar opinion because everyone in my circle of SPN fans eventually became so horribly spoilerphobic that we couldn't even discuss the promos for upcoming episodes. I left some thoughts about one in a post one Thursday night and came back to find the forum's mod had edited them out. I withdrew from the Supernatural fandom shortly after that because it had all become so insane.

I get avoiding spoilers for films or for a season you haven't gotten yet and I always mark things that might be spoilerific, but forcing other people not to speculate about upcoming episodes because spoilers might somehow happen is when things get a little totalitarian. That really takes the fun out of fandom.
