Sadly, it's one of those things I see on the internet. I'm always amazed at how some of my RL friends, who have different viewpoints than me, will say horrendous, awful things about another person... and then when I point out that *I* have that view, they spend their time backpedaling because they don't mean *me*, of course.

Maybe I'm weird, but I have a policy, I don't say anything on the internet that I wouldn't say to someone's face. I'm pretty damn blunt too.

But I also try to remember that even if I hate the other person's opinion (this is going beyond the fandom thing now...) - they're still a human being, even if they can't remember that I am too.

I always hope that when someone is so careless with their words about something so insignificant (dude, it's *entertainment*), that there's someone else to come to their defense so the person doesn't feel alone.

Maybe I'm weird, but I have a policy, I don't say anything on the internet that I wouldn't say to someone's face.

If more people followed this policy than the internet would be a much nicer place. (Granted, then there would be people who would be bored to tears with it, but you can't make everyone happy.)

I do mostly agree though.

That's the way to do it, in my mind. I would generally think if something is upsetting you (general you, not you you) so much that you feel the need to wish death on another person, it's time to walk away for the conversation. And that is so easy to do online. Just go get a snack, have something to drink, watch some tv. Hell, just close the window and go to another site. That's not always as easy to do irl, obviously but still.
