I think they meant more in the if the person is straight it makes no sense but I might be reading them wrong...

What? I'm talking about songs where the singer's gender is mentioned, not love songs that change from heterosexual to homosexual. Love songs weren't included in the OP. Like if a guy were to sing "I Feel Pretty", where "girl" is very clearly referring back to the singer's gender, it would make no sense.

I'm not the original anon, but... I think you're trying your hardest not to get their point... Look, when a man is singing a song using the feminine "I", it might sound a bit strange. Just like it might, when a woman sings a song with a masculine "I".
