A few days ago I had a dream related to fandom. Now this hardly the first dream I've had of fictional characters, nor the first one which played out like an episode in which I was not involved in at all but it's my first crossover dream.

I'm slightly ashamed. Not because I HAD the dream (and a G rated one at that) but over how much I enjoyed it- who knew a crossover between Harry Potter, Legend of Korra and TMNT could be entertaining?

Details below for those interested in this type of thing:

Well basically the story seemed to follow both Bolin and Asami from LOK. Korra and Mako had been kidnapped or something to that effect by Spirits and they had to rescue them. Unfortunately due to some sort of spatial weirdness, instead of the spirit world they ended up in a world where both the Harry Potter universe and the Ninja turtles shared the same place.

This TMNT universe seemed to be based on the 2012 one (though maybe a hint of the 2003 one as well?) to some effect but Venus, you know the female turtle everyone hates in the fandom was involved too. In this universe however she had powers like a Harry Potter wizard rather than chi powers- and this freaked out a lot of human wizards and she ended up being kidnapped so they could try and remove her power. In the end Asami and Bolin ran into the regular TMNT team trying to save her (though they'd never met her before, with another mutant turtle suddenly being around they decided to save her because why not?). In the end Asami and Bolin helped them kick ass along with a bunch of goblins and centaurs who came absolutely out of nowhere in some mansion just in the nick of time.

In the end, both Asami and Bolin discovered they couldn't get back home at all anymore. Also Korra and Mako weren't to be found, so they more or less became resigned to this new world they were in, while missing their friends. Then my dream cut to an epilogue where apparently goblins and had enough of the wizards bs and decided to completely out the wizarding world to muggles. In the end while there were still tensions between muggles and magical creatures too, they were getting along better than wizards in fact did. Asami and Bolin helped goblins get connections with muggle banks (how, IDK) and all was right with the world or on track anyway. Also Asami was somehow dating Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles (yeah IDK).

Yeah I know rambly, but you get the gist even if it's utterly silly. And I enjoyed it anyway so eh. (Plus I kind of want a HP fic where magical creatures decide to out the magical world to muggles, it's an interesting idea IMO anyway.)

So any weird fandom dreams of your own? Any you particularly liked?

I once had a dream I was trying to hide Loki in the network closet at work. I don't remember WHY I was trying to hide him in there, but he kept popping out and I was like, "GET BACK IN THERE BEFORE MY BOSS SEES YOU!" and he was like "NO! I DON'T WANT TO!"

I also had a dream once where Lord Voldemort had recruited Sarah Palin as a Death Eater and Bellatrix Lestrange was really pissed about it.

I can't stop chuckling at both of these.

Yeah, the first one I'll give you, but the second one? Maybe Voldemort and Palin were in character, but Bellatrix Lestrange was acting... well, kind of like one of those reality TV show contestents that just got voted off the island, stomping around and calling everyone bitches.

It was pretty funny, though...

Dreamed I was one half of my OTP in a canon where all the cast has amnesia, and when the other half kissed me lightly I remembered we had been dating beforehand. And some weird stuff about us running from Colonel Jack O'Neill in a semi-abandoned shopping mall? And then I flashed forward to our class all getting ready for a bus to come and I was looking for the other half and I couldn't find her so I sat on my own. All as the character.

I don't even know. The pairing isn't from Stargate or anything related to it even.

I've never dreamt of myself as a specific character before myself. It's almost always 'episode' dreams and in a very rare case I'm sometimes involved too, yet I'm always myself you know? Like when I ran a coffee shop in Monsters inc's monster world and threw both Randall Boggs and Mike outside for fighting and only served Sulley. Happened quite soon after I got my coffee shop job (almost a year ago) so that was almost predictable despite the fact I hadn't thought of the movie much in a while.

Yeah, I get those kind of things too. That one just really stood out because I felt like I was the character and thought I was him within the dream.

Last night I dreamed that Barack Obama lost the election so I had to move out of the White House. Since I'm decidedly not Michelle Obama (oh if only I were!), this was a somewhat surprising consequence of the election!

I had a dream I was at the Battle of Hogwarts, casually battling a Death Eater when out of nowhere Captain America shows up, totally defeats the Death Eater then we leave and go off for Chinese.

Another one was where I was reaped into the Hunger Games but all the other tributes were either celebrities or friends.

There was a vague recent one about me being a policewoman and Spiderman coming into the station, it was like he worked there or something? So strange!

I'm sane I promise. I've had quite a few fandom dreams, those three are just the most recent.

If there's one thing you should never be ashamed of, it's your dreams. It's just the rigamorole of the day rattling around in your brain, it doesn't mean anything [/emersoncod] That actually sounds like a pretty badass dream.

Noting your pony icon, I had a Friendship is Magic dream earlier this week. Maybe it's because I'm sick and my brain was going to strange places, since I haven't watched any episodes since season 2 ended.

It wasn't a crossover, but it took place in a new part of Equestria, one full of massive canyons and dangerous cliffs. You could tell it was still in Equestria because the rocks were purple and the fog swirled like the clouds on the show. Lightning flashed; this place looked dangerous to everyone but pegasi.

Whenever one of the mane six showed up for the first time, the "screen" would go black and a neon version of that pony's cutie mark would scroll across the screen, like it was the Power Rangers or a magical girl anime or something.

The "episode" opens with Pinkie Pie's cutie mark scrolling across the screen as Pinkie plummets through the clouds to the ground.

Rarity's mark scrolls past and she comes swooping down from the sky on the butterfly wings from the Sonic Rainboom episode. She catches Pinkie and brings her back to the top of the cliffs, where a small pony town is being terrorized by monstrous birds. We see Twilight's cutie mark on screen as she and Spike are rallying the townsfolk and trying to repel the birds with magic. Pinkie joins her on foot to help.

Rainbow Dash's mark scrolls as she shows up to defend the people from the birds on wing, and Rarity, apparently the only other flier, joins her. They get separated from the townsfolk and chased down to the bottom of a canyon by the birds, who, when they reach the ground, quadruple in size and turn into owl-like monsters.

Rainbow Dash and Rarity are cornered on the ground by these owl monsters when suddenly, a giant gust of flame from offscreen burns across them. The screen scrolls Fluttershy's cutie mark and we see her standing next to a hot air balloon, using the flame and gas to drive the owls away. At this point, dream logic kind of filled me in on what was going on; apparently, since Fluttershy was such a weak flier, she'd taken up using machines to fly and became the first pony to reach space.

The dream ended there, sadly. It could have gotten pretty awesome from there.

I dreamed I was Draco Malfoy and I bukkaked all over the Hogwarts student and staff.

Good times.

Oh boy! Well....

1. During my Harry Potter days, I dreamed that Daniel Radcliffe was having dinner with my family.

2. I dreamed that Kim Possible, Ron, Drakken and Shego was skydiving inside a huge shopping mall, and for some reason Shego was eating noodles from a tuppaware as she fell.

3. In my grandmother's house, I had a crossover dream involving Mittens from Bolt in the Hundred Acre Wood. I think it was something about telling a bedtime story to Bolt's kids inside a hollow tree?

4. I had a dream where this underwater train would carry me to an island where I danced the conga with A LOT of cartoon characters.

There are LOTS more but those dreams are the ones that stand out for me. Haven't had any Touhou or Homestuck dreams though. ONE DAY I WILL...

It was fantastic. LOL

I don't remember the details from last night's, but it involved River, Amy, and Rory from Doctor Who fighting aliens in a mall. No sign of the Doctor anywhere. Amy and Rory were older and looked closer to River's apparent age, and all three were doing the back-to-back badasses thing. I'm clearly coping with the finale just fine \o/

And a few weeks back, after watching a Doctor Who episode involving medical experimentation and cyborgs, I had a bizarre-as-hell crossover dream where Link from Ocarina of Time was partially converted into a cyborg by aliens and had to learn to cope with help from Seven of Nine and the EMT. I... yeah, I don't know. I've actually started plotting out a Zelda/Star Trek crossover. Send help!

I had this really creepy dream once where I kept perspective switching between myself (as a potential murder victim) and Walter Sullivan.

In one, Seto Kaiba wanted to destroy my house using a giant mecha robot for no particular reason that I knew of, and I only noticed this when I saw him come riding in on the robot from my window.

My favorite fandom-related dream happened maybe a month or so ago:

Snape was trying to break into the Dursleys' house, which, for some unexplained reason, was in the middle of this flat field. It was pitch black save for the moon, and all of the grass in the field was dead. Snape was determined to get [whatever] from the Dursleys' house, though.

So he got to the front door (why he didn't use a window or apparate, I'll never know), and Vernon Dursley suddenly stepped outside, completely buck-ass nude. "Who's there!" he yelled into the darkness, and Snape, in a panic, froze him with a spell. Then he ran away without getting whatever the hell it was he wanted in the first place.

As he was running, Snape reached into his robes and pulled out something. It was either a small, metallic book or a large-ish locket, but whatever it was, it was metallic and capable of opening. He paused in the middle of this giant field and opened the thing. As he did this, the grass suddenly turned green and trees popped up out of the ground like they'd always been there. A single tear then rolled down Snape's cheek as he watched the plants grow. He clutched the locket thing to his chest and said, tearfully, "Lily was right. There is magic in everything."

And then I was awoken by my alarm.

this is oddly cute

I have a ridiculous amount of dream where I'm just...randomly hanging out with fandom characters or in a fandom setting. So weird.

Couldn't list them all, but hmmm...the most recent really weird one involved Sokka from ATLA opening a massive pop-out closet full of slightly-varying Darth Vader suits with a "ta-daaa!" I have NO fucking idea.

Edit: wait, I actually just remember The Dream that I officially described as the weirdest fandom-related dream I ever had: Professor McGonagall and Tony Stark arguing in Ten Forward of the starship Enterprise, which for some reason was only serving pizza. Seriously. I totally brought that dream on myself, because I had been crackily discussing something pretty similar (but with totally different characters) right before falling asleep, but...what. The dream was actually way, way more elaborate and complicated and sprawling than that, but those are the only elements I remember.

I dreamed I had a pack of direwolves and we were running through a snowy forest. It was pretty cool, I'm a little jealous of my dreamself.

I'll start this with saying I've never played Starcraft. I've only seen a few trailers, so I vaguely know what those battle suit things they wear look like.

In the dream, Teal'c is stuck in that virtual reality game from the S8 episode "Avatar". At one point he has thrown himself on the floor and slid across to stab a SuperSoldier from underneath. Only the SS is covered in neon blue lines like a Tron uniform.

Suddenly there's another Tron SS about to attack Teal'c (who can't defend himself because his sword is stuck inside the first Tron SS). An air vehicle hovers around (for some reason, they're no longer in the bowels of the SGC, but up in a multistoried building that's been chopped in half). So the airshipthing hovers around and the back opens up and a Starcraft fighter jumps over near Teal'c and starts shooting the second Tron SS.

Teal'c extracts himself from the remains of the first Tron SS just as the Starcraft guy kills the second one. Starcraft rounds on Teal'c shouting "WHO DO YOU LIKE-O?!" (Apparently this particular phrase means "Who are you allied with?".....I have no fucking clue where "like-o" came from.) Teal'c, not understanding the meaning and being faced with a BigFuckingGun, jumps onto the hovering airship and tries to use the radio to contact SGC, because this is too fucked up.

That's when I woke up. And had to justify my brain's nonsense by imagining that one of the scientists working on the Avatar game had Starcraft installed on his computer and some files got switched. Maybe?

Haha! I used to have Animals of Farthing Wood dreams, where I was trying to lead them to safety (so traumatic).

Also X-Men/Harry Potter crossover dreams.
