I kind of wish there was an unspoken rule of not discussing age in fandom. There's so many stereotypes associated with certain age groups, and older fans, especially those with kids, seem to have such disdain for younger ones because they're not parents or "experienced" or some such bullshit.

I think people would get along much better if no one really knew how old everyone else was.

Agreed. I tend to keep my age to myself, even though I'm in my early thirties. I don't want to be judged on my age, and I also don't want people to think I'll judge them because they're 10-15 years younger than me.

This. I don't post anything related to my age. I'm having so much fun discussing my fandom, reading fic and stuff. I'd feel too self-conscious if other fans knew I'm 10+ older than them.
