I went through the same thing, just not with Evanescence. I went through a full-on metal-screamo-skulls-black-clothes phase. Looking back, god was I a douche. But that just means that my current taste in music covers a wide variety of genres. I think of it as a good thing, even if my friends who knew me then won't let me forget it. Everyone has that band they love that everyone else hates on. If they say they don't, they're lying. Especially if they're music students. They listen to some weird shit.
