I'm 35 and love my fandom, although I'm not as active as some people are. I think you're never too old for anything. If you're too old for the things you enjoy, then what are you bothering to live for?

The only hard part for me -- and this is for me only -- when I run into people in fandom in their 60s and such, is authority figures. My parents are only 18 years older than me. When, for my whole life, someone 20 years older than me is older than my parents, old enough to be in that "respect your elders category", it has this weird line for me in terms of friendships. Yes, you're my friend, but you're also older than my parents.

My parents still party harder than I do. They drink more than I do. My dad still smacks my mom on the ass every time she walks by, and he has no problem reciting dirty lyrics in front of us kids ("I want to lick your wet and furry pussy" is an all time favorite).

So yeah, age should in no way determine how much fun you can have in your life. My parents are still children at 53. Have as much fun as you possibly can. It just might take me a few meetings before I can let that authority figure line get smudged.
