I loved the book so much, and am STILL confused as to why they added Wybie. I mean, are they so confused as to why a girl can save herself? Nope, a boy has to do it. And a black boy too. It's like they just needed some diversity.

Late to the party, but that's not why they added Wybie. He was there so that Coraline had someone to talk to so she didn't spend the whole movie talking to herself. I think the bit at the end was just to give him something to do because Coraline had already more or less ended it.
