Oh FUCK YES, this. Gods, i hate that.

I also really despise when fandom terms (arrgh, gah) and computer speak (LoL, OMG) are written into fic where it's totally not in character at all. Drives me nuts.

That and, say, Sam and Dean getting a torch out of the boot of the Impala while wearing the jumpers their mum made them. If you can't be bothered to use the right terms, i'm not going to bother to read.

IA with all of this. And my brain always does a little freeze-up when someone writes a line like "why does my coffee cup smell of fish" rather than "why does my coffee cup smell LIKE fish" coming from an American character.

Or 'whilst'. Sorry, but the percentage of twenty-something mid-western ghost hunters who say 'whilst' is pretty damn small and Sam and Dean? Do not factor in.
