7. Art is not reality. No one can police the internet and no one can be responsible for the actions of individuals as a result of anything on the internet (or various other forms of media). I think you're narrow-minded and need to get a grip.

10. I think I may know who you are, since I am a fan of the Ouran Anonymous Kink Meme as well, but I couldn't agree with you more. I just wrote two Ouran fics with porn in them the past two days and I devoutly read every Ouran smut that comes my way (if it's well written enough anyway).

7. I agree with everything you're saying, but it doesn't really change the facts of the matter. Six Apart aren't trying to police the Internet. They're trying to run a business. That being the case, it's really up to them what they do and don't allow their users to post using their service - and, sad though it is to admit it, it's much safer to piss off fangirls who'll simply go post elsewhere than to run the risk of being seen as a safe haven for child molestors. Like it or not, a significant proportion of their userbase are minors. Just as they have the right to run their business however they want, you have the right to give your custom to whoever you want. Don't like Livejournal? Take your business elsewhere.

Sure, AFTER they pay me back the money they owe me for committing FRAUD.

(Anonymous) 2007-08-12 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed! They need to spend more time catching real pedos instead of banning good fanartists! I mean they can't honestly believe they're out to molest real children...oh wait yeah they do lol.

I know they are just trying to save their asses legally but they are going about in just about every wrong way possible.

Pretty much bingo. Not even 'they need to', if you meant 'they' as in '6A'. The PROPER AUTHORITIES need to be focusing on this. Vigilantism hurts the entire process of finding and catching genuine sickos by stirring up a whole lot of screaming and scuttlebutt and very little else, as we've seen in the wake of Worriers for Indolence.

Yeah, 6A needs to start a communicae with the SFPD to start tracking down the real pedos with their real child porn that's hosted on LJs servers (as I'm sure there is). Not banning high school and college students who write gay slashfic and draw harry potter pornos, lol. You know, I bet those two fanartists got reported not by someone who hates shota, but by someone who probably just hated them.
