I would be much more concerned with people who bulk up like that ALL the time, without prompting or without having gone out for a superhero part.

"I MUST look this way all the time", or "I could never look good that way (and therefore will not audition for the part)" seems a lot less healthy, emotionally, than "Huh. I bet I could do this. To the audition!".

As long as they're not constantly pulling what Bale did with the Machinist/Batman and back again, I think they're pretty safe.
