Clint/Coulson & Arthur/Eames
Re: Clint/Coulson & Arthur/Eames
I'm not one, seeing as I've never seen Inception.
But why would there be more overlap with these two ships as opposed to any others?
Re: Clint/Coulson & Arthur/Eames
I was reading someone's ramblings about how they didn't get the appeal of Clint/Coulson. And all I really had was them being competent badasses with blank slate backgrounds of straight-laced and snarky and I thought "Hey, that sounds like Arthur/Eames,". Just wondering if the dynamic attracted a lot of the same shippers or if they're mostly separate.
Re: Clint/Coulson & Arthur/Eames
Blank slates are fun to play with because fandom can make them whoever they want. You put two blank slates together in a relationship and you have a collective of that fandom's fantasies. Makes sense to me.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-22 08:32 am (UTC)(link)I never really thought about Clint/Coulson until a friend of mine in the Inception fandom recced a fic with that pairing. I felt like I was missing out on the Avengers fandom because I didn't ship anyone after seeing the movie. Problem solved.
The way some people write these pairings, with Arthur and Coulson being uptight suit-wearing badasses, and Clint and Eames being the cocky, flirtatious, yet somehow insecure, pining muscle-men... you could probably just substitute names and be reading the same damn (really, really hot) porn.
I like some of the fic, because I enjoy the dynamics, and there is so much UST fic for these guys which I love. I think most of the similarities pop up where there are giant gaping holes in the canon that people want to fill with id-fic.
