Avengers. There's a lot of Tony realizing he wants to be with Steve and that he and Pepper just weren't meant to be in a relationship or Pepper deciding she doesn't want to deal with Iron Man and she disappears off the radar after. They've worked together for years, been friends forever, know each other inside out. I feel it has to be a lot more complicated than just 'drifting apart' and BAM Pepper's out of the picture.

Ha, I thought so. :) Avengers is the fandom I'm having problems with too, which is why I asked (my OOC!Tony senses were going off.)
