I liked X2 more than X ngl. It was fun.

Anyway! I'd love for something with more Elizabeth and Aigis in it. P4A was nice for that <3

Maybe I'm misreading this . . .

But didn't The Answer already go over that territory? (Albeit not with the ending you'd have wanted . . .)

I'd say they probably want the 'saving the protag' thing to be the important part?

Just dropped by to say: I fucking LOVED Final Fantasy X-2!

A bit more than I love FFX to be honest.

Loved the gameplay, the fact that the battle group is all women (their dynamic and banter is awesome), and that Yuna and Tidus finally got the happy ending they earned (nothing broke my heart more than the ending of X).

So, OP, you're not alone in your love for FFX-2 :).

Same here. It helps that Rikku is my favourite character in the series, and promoting her from secondary to primary protagonist was a great thing, but it was a fun game, with an interesting story, great characters, and a fun, if fairly standard battle system. A bit overly fanservicey, of course, but...
kyuusei: This is Iggy being adorable. Not that it's difficult. (Default)

X-2 was a lot of fun. If you can get past the campiness of the first couple chapters, it's a fine game.

I wouldn't mind seeing those characters, but I'd rather not have a game solely focused on saving the MC.
terabient: Anime-styled profile pic that is kinda, sorta like me (P4: Rise)

Fuck the haters, X2 was a great game. Once you get past Yuna and Rikku's admittedly ridiculous costume designs and the idea that pop music can SAVE THE WORLD (and honestly, I liked how the idea of a cheesy pop ballad ~touching people's hearts~ was played so earnestly), FFX-2 is all about 3 young women trying to find their place in the world after horrendous tragedies. It explores that theme with more respect and seriousness than most people give it credit for. And FFX-2 earns its happy ending in a way a lot of games don't. (Also, I love that there's a happy ending for Yuna even if you don't get Tidus back.)

And I'd love to see your version of a P3 sequel. :>

I'd hate it because, well, Minato did a very important thing and he's serving as a way to keep Erebus and Nyx apart and save everyone. Save him, that seal's gone. As well, it kind of nixes his sacrifice and makes it less important, IMO.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. It would kind of go against the whole theme of the game to all of a sudden say, "oops just kidding about you being doomed from the start and somehow still choosing your own fate to save the world. There was a undo button all along and everyone can have peaches and ice cream now instead."

Persona 3 was all about dealing with loss. Retconning so the other characters don't lose MC breaks that theme. I think this breaking with the game's original theme is similar to the reason that so many people don't like X-2.

X2 wasn't as terrible as many people make it out to be. The battle system was fun enough that I actually finished it (which is more than I can say for FFXII).

But I think Atlus was taking the sacrificial savior theme a little bit more seriously in P3; bringing the protagonist back from the dead would wipe out the importance of his decision.

X-2 was seriously some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game, haters continue to move to the left.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-23 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
lmao even though the game made NO SENSE? Like, Tidus was the collective conscious of a dead city, pretty much right? And he was freed from that burden to go and be with Auron and Jecht. I don't understand how bringing him back for the selfish desires of a misguided brat is a "happy ending" of any sorts.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-23 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Holy fuck, a Persona 3 secret.

Idk, we've already had Aigis as the MC in The Answer. And I thought a huge chunk of P4A was SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER setting up for Elizabeth as a wild card. I'd much prefer a game with Elizabeth as MC. If she's able to navigate the human world, I wonder what other realms she can visit as well.

Not sure I'd want to save Minato exactly, but I do want to talk to him.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-23 10:18 am (UTC)(link)
I'd really rather not have any more Aigis. The whole Persona 3 canon is so oversaturated with her and her merchandise already, it's annoying.

But SPOILER I thought they mentioned in P4 that Elizabeth was searching for 'that blue haired boy' or something? I heard rumours of there being supposed to be a mobile phone game where you play as her to go and rescue him, but I guess that was just a rumour and nothing more to it (and it wouldn't be marketed outside of Japan anyway, so ...).

x2 was a really fun game! there are a lot of haters for every ff game these days simply because of the sheer amount of people playing!
