Nah, they've moved onto GRIMDARK GRIMDARK GRIMDARK.

Everybody says Joe Abercrombie is great, but I don't think I can take anymore GRR BLOOD DARK GRIMNESS.

I like Abercrombie a lot, but I definitely know what you mean. I'm so TIRED of everything being grimdark and edgy and serious and mature and overly baroque and grim. I mean, there's just so much of it, and some of it is good - Abercrombie does write well, he has interesting characters and an interesting plot - but I'm just so tired of that dark tone that it kind of gets fatiguing and annoying to me. It's just too predominant

god I just have SO MANY fantasy feels and have no one to talk about them with IRL, sorry I'm responding to like every post in this thread everybody, sorry.
