Yeah, I'm not in the fandom but I've been mentally pronouncing it as J-two for years. I guess we all learned something today.

J2 = J-two
J² = J-squared

I refuse to accept anything else.

And even if they didn't want to get ~fancy~ with HTML or whatever, there's always J^2.

I've always pronounced it J-Two.

I use both interchangeably. It sort of depends who I've been talking to most recently and how they say it.

Look, back when I was in J2 RPS fandom, in the halcyon days of 2004, when SPN was less than an elevator pitch and J2 meant John/John, it was absolutely pronounced J2.

My first instinct was to write something about how you pronounce your pairing name being so irrelevant that I couldn't believe anyone would post a secret about it.

Then I remembered the Glee wank over Surt vs. Kam vs. Kum vs. Hevans. Please tell me that people are arguing over "two" vs "squared."

I've never seen any wank over the pronunciation, personally, but given how enthusiastic some parts of J2 fandom are, I wouldn't be surprised if it existed. Although those people might be too busy trying to prove that Jared's baby isn't actually his or how both men's wives are beards to bother wanking about pairing names.

Never underestimate the power of crazy on the internet. C'mon, J2 fandom, don't let me down here!

...It's not "J-two"?

I see no problem here. If people don't want it to be pronounced "J-two" they are going to need to do better than typing a latter J and a number two.

Since my first exposure to SPN rps was a complicated diagram/formula explaining how J(ared) * J(ensen) = J^2 I've always known that it was supposed to be J-squared... but that hasn't stopped me pronouncing it J-two in my head. Only i didn't realise i was doing that. Oops.

On the subject of fandom math, I'm surprised more people haven't made use of the slash symbol also meaning division, e.g. J(ared) / J(enson) = 1 = ONE TRUE PAIRING!!!eleventy!!11

... Or is that just me?

I have always thought of it as J Two also.

I'm not in this fandom anymore, but I still lurk occasionally, and I've always said J-two.
