I like But I'm a Cheerleader because it's not one of those lesbian movies that ends in death and/or heartbreak.

I don't care if the critics hate it.

To hell with the critics.

I really think that the critics just don't know how to fit Jamie Babbit's movies into their pre-existing frameworks, and so they dismiss the movies. Both But I'm A Cheerleader (which is great), but also The Quiet , which I am apparently the only person in the world who liked - I thought it was a fantastic, if understandably dark, movie about abuse and power. Oh, man, did I love that movie. Don't care what the critics say. They just didn't understand it.

I know you already mentioned it but I just have to second the recommendation for Imagine Me & You. It is one of the sweetest movies ever. I love it so much.
