There are ways to make it look like the address is right when it isn't. You know you can use html to mask the url right? Like, I make it look like http://www.dreamwidth.org (http://www.google.org/) (if this doesn't show up right, click "reply to this comment" and then "more options" and hopefully it'll look like a proper link) leads to the dreamwidth site but if you hover your mouse or cursor over the link, you'll see that it actually leads to Google.

1) If it sounds off, it probably is.
2) Always hover over links to make sure they go where they say they go.
3) Don't click on redirected links like http://t.co/numbers+letters and http://bit.ly/bunchofstuff unless they come from a trusted source.
4) Be extra weary when it's related to money or personal accounts.

I thought of that after. But since I couldn't tell from a screencap.. well, yeah.

And yeah, the shortened links always make me wary. =P

ONLY IF YOU NEVER DO IT AGAIN, ANON, AND YOU PROMISE ME THAT YOU DO, IN FACT, KNOW THE DIFFERENCE.

I DO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. WEARY IS TIRED WHEREAS WARY IS LIKE BEWARE. I DON'T KNOW HOW IT HAPPENED. I'M SORRY.
