I have tried to figure out just what it is about Pepper and Tony/Pepper that just doesn't click for me. Let me be clear - I don't hate her, or them. But for a pairing that has almost all the things in it that I generally love in pairings (banter, partnership, best friends), I'm surprisingly meh about it. And about Pepper herself. It might be Gwyneth - at this point it's the only thing I can think of. I don't have anything against her, but I do wonder sometimes what a different actress could have done with the role.

Steve/Peggy, on the other hand, I adore. Out of all the Avengers pairings, they're by far my favorite. I don't even know why, because it's not like the relationship ever got a chance to go anywhere. Maybe it's the tragic angst. I don't know. And Peggy herself is awesome.
