Re: Is your favorite character in a fandom also the one you're the most obsessed with/interested in?
Madoka is my favorite character from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but I think Sayaka's character arc is the most interesting, and the one that best represents the show's themes overall. And her penultimate scene in the train is my favorite in the whole series. Fic-wise, what I read the most is Homura-centric character study fic.
My favorite character from Phantasy Star IV is a minor character, but if I ever got around to writing fic for PS it'd probably involve the main character because I like him a lot too and there's a lot more unexplored, interesting material to work with.
