Re: COMPLETELY SERIOUS QUESTIONS

I know it's hard for you to admit due to that giant chip on your shoulder but other people do watch the show and base their feelings for a character on canon events, which may sometimes contradict your own. No one's stopping you from liking Scott, and if you do that's fine, but acting like a screaming toddler certainly won't help you get your points across, whatever they may be given how they've been bogged down in your continuing hissy fit.

NA

"Your interpretation of the show is opinion and not fact"!=tone policing

Stop coopting actual issues and SJ language because you're butthurt someone thinks your fave character is a ditz.

comparing my comments to a "screaming toddler", that i'm having a "hissy fit" and saying that my points won't get across because of how i am speaking is tone policing. sorry that i am not going to sit here and pour some tea and speak sweetly to assholes.

And if you want to ignore all the actual substantive criticism of the character you're stanning in order to keep saying people are oppressing a person of color, no skin off my nose. Sometimes Scott does dumb shit, and if you can't separate that from the racist shit people on tumblr say, then I think people are right to call you on that.

Well, reading all of your posts conjures an image of a screaming toddler...

The sad thing is that if you weren't so over-the-top in your vitriol and could calmly and rationally discuss your feelings, I'd maybe have been on board with what you were saying.

I watch the show because I enjoy it. I like all the characters. I ship lots of ships. I think Scott is ridic adorable, and I don't think there's anything wrong with finding him kind of doofy. I can't enjoy a guy who's a bit of a ditz, but a genuinely good guy? Why? It's what makes him so much fun.

I don't think his grades define his character at all - but trying to sell him as someone who is 100% on the uptake all the time, is going to be a pretty hard sell to ANYONE WHO HAS WATCHED THE SHOW. The show plays up the fact that he's a bit of an airhead on purpose. That's half the fun of what has happened to him. He's got to get serious about it and focus on it and it's a struggle for him to do so sometimes. All of this serves to make him a very real, fallible and empathetic character. The fact that you can't get past a few people calling him dumb, is your issue. And probably something you need to get over before you burst a blood vessel or something...
