i'd start off, also, by saying "you're still young" - but in contrast to the other anon i say it from the perspective that travelling when you are older and more experienced in life, when you know yourself better, you can often have a more profound experience, a different kind of appreciation for life and culture which you may not have otherwise been sensitive to in another part of your life

you used the terms "settling down" vs "opportunity"...that to me says that you WANT the travelling but maybe think 'the right thing to do' would be the career...don't do it (or anything in life) because you think it's the right thing to do...there is no right thing, there is only 'right for you, right now'

whatever you decide, do it free from obligation or fear, or any expectation on yourself or from others - that way in future, no matter what happens, you will always know why YOU decided what you did at the time

...i am so excited for you, by the way...what a wonderful time in life :)
