OMG I love darkfic so much.

I might dig through my faves and add a whole bunch more recs, but the most disturbing one I've read recently is "The Value of Strength" from The Avengers by margo_kim, which is "what if Steve Rogers is actually a complete monster pretending to be a nice guy?" It's so creepy and ruthlessly cruel, which is doubly impressive because the author is pretty obviously a big fan of the real Steve Rogers. And it has this amazing passage:

A weak man knows the value of strength. Knows the value of power....Love is the most powerful weapon you can wield. Love and respect and trust. Have those, and people will fall over themselves to defend you. Have those, and everything you do becomes acceptable. Have those, and you can set the world on fire just because you’re feeling cold.

Everything that author writes is totally out-of-the-ballpark amazing, IMO ;)

Currently reading through her archive, and holy fuck can this person write and convince me of things I never had a second thought about before. Also, I feel validated in my admiration for Agent Maria 'I'll take none of your shit' Hill.

I know right???? My favorite was the ghost!Yinsen one though. Was so speechless I still haven't figured out how to review it with justice, and I *cannot* leave a half-assed review for something that amazing.

Not there yet! (wroking my way through the archive in chronological order, inbetween some actual productive use of the itnernet). I'm really torn between laughing my head off at Darcy, Jane and Erik gossiping and shipping their workmates (and the Widow listening, ALWAYS listening), or crying bitter tears over the grief that just crashes down on an unsuspecting Maria. This writer clearly resents my feels and seems to enjoy using them as a punching bag.
