As someone who hasn't seen the show, watching this was a confusing experience. Also, while eating oneself is disgusting (understatement of the year), this was not as gross as expected. Maybe the internet has finally ruined me.

Ah, I understand. Context is important. The name "Charlotte" can still strike fear in the people who have seen the show, but only if you can get the context.

The show itself is rather creepy, for a magical girl show, but it's not the creepiest either.

Is the anime long? Because if it's something like 20 episodes (and easy to find) I might give it a shot. Probably not right now, but in the future.

Not, it's only 13 episodes long, I think (I might be off by one or two, but it's less than 15). I'm pretty sure it's easy to find, it's only a year old or so and it's pretty popular!
