To clarify, I want someone to love me even though I have mental disorders, and someone that will see through the disorders to see who I am, and not just an illness. I'm personally nothing like cannon Azula, I'm more like Aang underneath my illnesses.

I'm sorry you have difficulty making close friends, but the relationship you picked as your example is terribly unhealthy and *destructive*. And based on this comment not representative of what you want OR even the people involved.

I don't think you fully through through your comparison.

Well, THAT's pretty reasonable. Comparing yourself to Azula made me think you were some kind of manipulative controlling jerk or something. 'xD

Then you might want to take another look at the comparison you decided on. Their relationship in canon was unhealthy, and actually pretty abusive. Azula had to blackmail Ty Lee into joining her for a reason, and that's a pretty good indication of what their relationship as a whole was like.

I mentioned up-thread, in reply to someone else, that a relationship like Tyzula really ends up boiling down to the 'Ty Lee' having to stand there and take whatever the 'Azula' dishes out...And I've been there. For the person being 'Ty Lee' it's very, very bad for your mental [and possibly physical] health.

I dunno, I can understand that feeling. When it's a choice between a bunch of characters who are all basically pure heroes, with ones like Azula as the only ones with serious issues, I can see why you'd gravitate more towards the people who the narrative explicitly identifies as being messed up.

But in that case, why Azula and not Zuko? If you're really 'like Aang deep down', you seem more like her sad, angry, fucked up but genuinely decent and sincere brother. Seems more like you want more of an Iroh for a friend.

I can still see why you'd first identify with Azula, though! I'm sure you wouldn't actually want someone to be in the same position as Ty Lee, since you seem to be aware that their relationship was horribly unhealthy.
