because after spending so much time in tumblr, they forget the difference between fanon and canon? they started to believe their fics and arts and forget about what is REALLY going on in movies and tv shows

I can see where insisting that fanon things are canon would aggravate people. I really can.

But legitimately angry? As in "I want to throw something across the room" angry? That seems a bit excessive.

yeah but those fans grow exponentially and after a while your tracked tag becomes some random fanon stories. it becomes really tiring

tumblr may have made it worse, but that mentality existed long before tumblr. it's just encoded into fandom's DNA, like a Dark Side version of it or something.
