What killed it for me is how Pinkie Pie is an absolute horrible pony in season 2.

Along with Twilight.
She redeemed herself a bit in the Royal Wedding episodes, but she still seemed too controlfreakish and OCDish most of the time.

Oh Lord, I wanted to strangle Pinkie Pie in "A Friend In Deed" SO BAD. The fact she didn't get any comeuppance for her behavior was just one of the many things that was horribly, horribly wrong.

I wondered if I was the only one with that response. She deserved a beat down for all the harassment she did in that episode...

Yes, this. I liked Pinkie well enough but that episode really made it turn into dislike, it annoyed the hell out of me that no one told her that harassing someone 'because they don't seem happy' was not an ok thing to do.

Exactly.

I especially hated how Pinkie Pie browbeat Cranky Doodle into tears (I think) just to get an apology, too. Hell, the way she acted in that episode -and the fact _no one_ called her out on it- just infuriated me. There was the potential for a good lesson to be learned, and they blew it.

Yeah, Pinkie is by far my most hated pony. I didn't like how she treated Luna, at all. Because bullying is funny, eh?

She was absolutely insufferable in S2.

Dear gods, yes. I lost count of the times I wanted to slap the ever-loving manure out of her.

Also, your icon is really pretty.

If I didn't mentally write Putting Your Hoof Down out of my headcanon, I would put up Fluttershy as being pretty terrible, but that was a badly written episode for everyone involved. Rarity's supposed to be charming, not someone who flirts just to get her way, and Pinkie's method of negotiation by flat-out trickery was just as bad. That episode was where I checked out of the fandom entirely, because people were all calling Rarity out on the flirting but no one mentioned Pinkie at all.

TL;DR Putting Your Hoof Down is worst episode, right up there with Over a Barrel.

Ugh, that episode...

I'm with you, I hated that Pinkie and Rarity were so "clever" in dishonest ways, that Rarity caught tons of flak for it while Pinkie mostly got a pass, and of course, that everyone seemed to think it was AWESOME that Fluttershy screamed at the two of them and made them cry.

Also just a little tired of every Fluttershy episode being the same plot. "Fluttershy is really shy/scared of something. Oh good she learned to be more assertive/brave. Until next episode when we need her to cringe from her own shadow again."
