(Anonymous) 2012-11-03 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)To be honest, they both have their strong and weak points, and even then it really depends on your taste.
Makoto Shinkai makes pretty movies and it's visually impressing until you see how he drew characters in his oldest movies (eg: Voice of a distant star). That, I find jarring, but he improved a lot so that's nice.
