It depends for me how insistent someone is being with something. If there's a lot of people just generally going 'this is awesome, no really check it out' then I'll give it a go myself, but if someone is trying to shove the thing down my throat going 'OMG THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE IT?' then my interest is not going to be there. For me it's a let me discover it in my own time kind of thing.
