I can understand that, especially if you don't agree with Miyazaki's views on man vs nature. I still prefer Ghibli though, if we're comparing. I was totally taken with Voices of a Distant Star (I still think the concept is compelling and the execution was sweet and heartbreaking) but I find that the rest of his works are all trying to grab hold of that same genuine bitter-sweetness and I think they mostly just end up mushy and sentimental.
