You don't. You just don't read their fic. It's just life that you aren't going to be able to enjoy every fic in existence, and it really has absolutely no correlation whatsoever to how nice the writer is. Some fics are going to rub you wrong, often for reasons you can't even put your finger on. Just learn to shrug it off, say "not my thing," and move on.

This, exactly. I can't read 99.9% of h/c fic, yet most people I know who write it write it well and are awesome people. It's just that my brain works in ways that make the vast majority of h/c hit me funny and creep me out even when it's clearly not supposed to.
