(Anonymous) 2012-11-04 03:58 am (UTC)(link)It's how I feel about a lot of things when people rec them. They're all "OMGWTFBBQ BEST THING EVER" and then I watch/read it and go "Hmm, that was pretty good". And even if it was good, even if I enjoyed it, it never really lives up to the expectations.
On the flip side, I also tend to tone down my enthusiasm. While I'm thinking "THIS THING WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE" I go "It's pretty good I guess. If that's your thing. I think you'll like it. Maybe. We share a similar taste so maybe you'll like it?"
