I've always been very distracted by her while watching the Shining, I have to admit. It IS terrible, but the mix of bad 70's fashion and her unfortunate face... took me out of the movie constantly.

Yeah. I mean...she has pretty features but they're exaggerated to the point of bordering ugly. Long face, bug-eyes, buck teeth and a slightly weak chin. Very horse-like. She always looks lost in thought.

But I have seen some very nice pictures of her. I think she looks pretty when she smiles. A voluminous bob (more voluminous on sides and bottom than top) with thick bangs would do wonders for her unique facial proportions.

I think they mean that thinking badly of Shelley Duvall's appearance is terrible (cuz she ain't done nothing to nobody afterall), not that the movie is.
