Curious, though... what other reason would they have to bash someone's appearance just for being conventionally attractive? Because the only reason I can come up with is jealousy that they perceive her to be more attractive than they are. Otherwise why would they care? There's no need to put someone else down if you're content with your own appearance.

It's actually a pretty rational assumption.

Person A puts up a picture of themselves
Person B says that the picture can't be of A because the picture is attractive and no fan is that attractive.
Person B is a fan - by their own argument Person B is unattractive.
