Oh my god, I shipped them too! WE ARE NOT ALONE! *does a dance of joy*
I wasn't sure if they were going to go canon or not, but there were moments where I was like "he seems kinda jealous of Marty's girlfriend, way too jealous, he even made a note to himself to remember to be nice to her because that's how normal people are supposed to act ... and then he puts together all this elaborate stuff just so Marty can write a script ... this goes beyond the devotion of a good friend, even a crazy friend ..."

There should be fanfic out there. There really should. Crazy devoted friend fanfic. While they're out there getting high and drunk in the desert. Come one, internet, it's not that hard "sharing body heat leads to something more ..." the fic practically writes itself here!


I started relating to Marty way too much during the movie (a writer surrounded by crazy friends struggling to stay sane and failing abysmally) and started thinking "what if Marty and Billy were played by women?" (because I'm a woman and thus look nothing like the lovely Mr. Farrell.) That would have changed the movie too much, but it was fun to muse on as I left the theater with my friends. Fem!Billy clinging to Fem!Marty and giggling and falling asleep on her shoulder ... awwwwwww ...
