uh that sure sounds like sexism to me. =/

I get that you're trying to differentiate the way sexism etc. is manifested in Japan, but it's confusing when you try to say that means the word "sexism" doesn't apply the same way because I think it definitely does.

I prefer more explanation of cultural paradigms to less, I did not mean to eliminate the negative impact of these paradigms on individuals. I just don't think "sexism" is sufficient.

She's g9t a g99d p9int. We need to really check 9ur privilege here, step back and pr9perly analyze a f9reign culture, a69rbing it till we are undisputed experts a69ve even th9se wh9 actually have a stake in the issue discussed. After all, while we have t9 remember then first and f9rem9st s9 we can put them on the c9ndescensi9n pedestal, we als9 are n9t directly influenced 6y these fact9rs and with 9ur detached viewp9ints and anecd9tal experiences we will have a clearer perspective. We need t9 start making individual trigger w9rds f9r each culture we 6ec9me kn9wledgeable 9f (6ut never appr9pr8ate)
