This sounds like me, haha. I ALWAYS love the hated characters. And, weirdly, they're usually good guys/girls. Like I'm not fapping over some douchey villain and hoping the rest of fandom sees what a woobie they are, they're legitimately good people, but because they were shown as GOOD and then had flaws revealed over the course of the story, people only saw the flaws. Whereas if you've got a douchey character who is revealed to have done one awesome thing the fandom shits itself with pride for that character.

Yeah, I like the hated characters... the only time I can remember liking a popular character was... um...

....
...
.........
Sirius Black?

I feel you. I do love douchey characters who try to be good and/or have a good reason for being so douchey, but I can't stand it when their fans hold everyone else to a so much higher standard than them.

I shouldn't talk about the raging I did in the HIMYM fandom when Ted finally dumped Barney after years of Barney treating him like shit and sabotaging everything Ted tried to do and trying to force Ted to be just like him and generally being a toxic passive-aggressive overdependent manipulative possessive guilt-tripper towards him...and a whole shitton of fans sided with Barney. I LOVE Barney man, but...HOW. Just...how. Ted and the others are the ones who deserve all the awards for putting up with Barney at all. I'm glad they do, but...damn.
