The Magic Knight Rayearth anime was better than the manga for a long list of reasons which, if anyone wants to actually hear, I can tell in another comment.

Bonus opinion: Usually their anime are always better than their manga. It's like they make their manga on drugs, so whenever other people come into the picture to make the anime version, more sanity and sense comes into the plot as well.

This is such a hard to come by opinion. Everyone seems to hate the second season. They're all like 'TOO MUCH HIKARU' while I'm all like 'BUT IT'S MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH AND FUU AND UMI HAD PLENTY OF SCREEN TIME ANYWAY!'
