Are the CLAMP fandoms alive enough to generate discussion three threads in a row? Tune in and see! First person to mention the X hiatus, KuroFay, SeiSub, DouWata, or plot twists loses.

Today's theme is "unpopular opinions!"

I think CLAMP's most attractive man across all their various titles is Clow Reed. What a hottie. :9 *has no clue if this is an unpopular opinion in fandom, but suspects it might be, given Clow is an adult and not a teenager*

CCS fandom seems to have come away with the conclusion that Clow Reed is either a) irrelevant or b) an irresponsible jerk who TOTALLY RUINED SAKURA'S LIFE!!1! Never mind the fact that she never would have been born (not to mention never have met Syaoran, develop such a deep friendship with Tomoyo, etc.) if Clow didn't forcibly reincarnate himself. Sakura is happy, well-adjusted, and looking forward to a bright future at the end of the manga and anime, so I think his plans went all right. Eriol (or Suppi, I don't remember) stated outright that Sakura was never even in danger during her trials.

Since Yuuko is a fandom darling, some TRC/xxxHOLiC fans don't like him because he accidentally trapped her between life and death (AND TOTALLY RUINED HER LIFE!!1!). This is more unintentionally tragic than anything, since Yuuko herself emphasized that all Clow wished for was for her to "open her eyes again" -- she even took on the "punishment" for Clow's mistake as her problem, too!

TL;DR: My unpopular opinion is that Clow Reed was a well-intentioned person (albeit with a weird, whimsical personality) who gets a bad rap due to bad circumstances.

I hated Tokyo Babylon.

I liked....yes yes, I lose, SeiSub (sorta) in X better, but Babylon was blah. Also, the art difference throws me. SO. MUCH. JUST. BLAH.

I also really really liked Angelic Layer. Both anime and manga, but anime was better for me. It had a better explanation for Misaki's mother's absence and I liked Ohjiro/Misaki MUCH MUCH better than Koutarou/Misaki. EW I hated that pairing. >_>

I loved Angelic Layer too.
Mostly because I wanted an Angel myself though.

The reason for Misaki's mother's absence was absolutely horrible. Also OujiroxMisaki made total sense. Total.

Anime over manga anytime. .______.

Hikaru is the best Magic Knight. Hikaru > Fuu >>>>>>> Umi.

People don't like Hikaru? Aw. I like her.

Wow, I thought Hikaru was the most popular out of the Magic Knights. Maybe some fans think that she's "overexposed?"

I adore Clamp School Detectives! I know this is a long shot....Do happen to know about Man of Many Faces? (It's an Akira centric manga)

(Nope, sadly most people barely remember the series, if they even heard of it. If not most people just remember them as those kids in Tsubasa)

Clamp School Detectives and Duklyon are the only two CLAMP series I still like, although I am going to buy the Tokyo Babylon reprint. I refuse to believe that Duklyon and Detectives are set in the same universe as X.

Really? That's pretty interesting. Would it be too much if I asked why?

I don't like Fay, either, but I think that's because my lasting impressions of him are from the fandom (which turns him into a giant woobie) and the last chapters (where he fails to do anything important).

Meiling is my favourite character from Cardcaptor Sakura. Yes, I have read the manga. No, I don't care that she isn't in it. HATERS GONNA HATE.

Meiling is so awesome! I think CCS really needed a character like her, since she has many more obvious flaws than the main cast, but is still likeable and fun to watch.

Meiling is one of the many reasons I prefer the anime.

I think Watanuki/Himawari is equally as great and tragic as Watanuki/Doumeki. I got so depressed I almost cried when that one chapter said she got married to someone else.

I really liked Watanuki/Himawari, but knew it wasn't going to end with them together and was happy that their story had a resolution - I can't remember exactly, but after he knows she was responsible for his troubles, Watanuki tells her he is happy they met. I feel like that was one of XXXholic's best moments.

At least he cared about her, which is more than can be said for Doumeki.

I think Seishirou and Subaru are both lame - the only character I like in Tokyo Babylon is Hokuto. Who is freaking awesome despite the frilliness and hits a bunch of my plot kinks. The "bishies" that are supposed to be the focus? Can bite me.

So my overall opinion of TB once I got around to reading it wound up being "...YnM did this way, way better."

I don't like TRC at all. It was amusing at first, but somewhere along the way I just lost interest and it stopped being amusing.

I'm not that fond of MKR, but I love the character designs and pretty animation 8D

I actually enjoyed TRC all the way through. I was about 14 when I read it, though...I'm unsure if I'd feel the same now.

The Magic Knight Rayearth anime was better than the manga for a long list of reasons which, if anyone wants to actually hear, I can tell in another comment.

Everyone and everything was way better...

Bonus opinion: Usually their anime are always better than their manga. It's like they make their manga on drugs, so whenever other people come into the picture to make the anime version, more sanity and sense comes into the plot as well.
