Have you engaged in discussions on comms, forums, etc? That counts as a contribution.

The sum total of my contributions to several of my main fandoms has been online discussion and panel participation at cons. The only other things I've ever done for any fandom is cosplay.

What above anon said. As long as you do something other than lurk, it's a contribution. I draw for different fandoms and I get many of my ideas from conversations I've read or had with different people. Even if you don't think that you are doing much, you might be inspiring someone else.

This. I've written fanfic and RPed and stuff but I think even leaving comments on things is a contribution. Heck, if you've ever reviewed a fanfic, or told someone you like their art, you've contributed to the fandom. Fandoms would die if they didn't have people excitedly talking about the latest episode or thanking fanartists and fanficcers for their work.
