i'd just turned 12 and i hadn't planned on telling my mom (though i realized later that that would have been a bad idea of course) but she saw my underwear in the laundry and showed me where the pads where in the bathroom and stuff. that was it, and my first period was really light so i probably assumed that it wouldn't be that bad lol. but really in the first couple years i wasn't regular at all so it wasn't great, some accidents that lead to me being super paranoid for ages until i could predict when i'd get it. (this is actually making me feel a little old bc i'm turning 21 this weekend)
