I think it's cute when people discover things through their significant others. Sharing interests is fun and I don't see why finding something new through your SO is 'worse' than finding things on your own, or through friends, or whatever.

Also if anyone tries to make you feel like a 'lesser fan' just because you don't play other games, they are douchebags and you should just ignore them into dust.
