Yeah, pretty much.

And I had to think up some stuff that could conceivably be secrets because I felt sorry for the people in general comments complaining about how there were no good secrets, no fandom-specific secrets, not enough secrets, etc.

you know, having shit doesn't fufil any "quota" it just shows we are shit.

A fair amount of my secrets are things everyone on my personal blog already knows. Almost all of them are things I end up going public about later but wanted to test the waters about first.

lol, ia.

I post some secrets that don't really apply to me, but mirror opinions I've seen floating around. Lol.

I don't think you're alone. I remember a little bit ago there was a secret that had something along the lines of "SB: I have no one else to tell."

A lot of these aren't necessarily secrets, but just things people don't have anyone to talk to about. Which I think is fine.

This. I've done it too. I think it's fairly common.

No. Way.

We know.

Ehhh, I don't get this. If it's not actually a secret, why post it?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-11 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
To have a discussion?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-11 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Venting? Haven't you ever had a thought that you just wanted out there in some way where people would see it? It's therapeutic.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-11 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
If you have a secret and shout it at the top of your lungs but there's no one around to here, have you really told anyone?

IMO, there's not much difference between posting something private-locked and posting it somewhere you know it won't be read.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-12 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
Not in effect, but there's a difference if you want to tell someone.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-12 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
for me, its stuff I wish I could talk about with people IRL but no one I know is really into fandom, or stuff I want to say but don't have a blog or tumblr or anything of the sort to do so with.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-12 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Tons of people do that. We can always tell, and they are almost always boring. But if you do, and this is to everybody, try to phrase them so they're punchy and concise. It's a lot better than three paragraph essays about your pairing preferences or whatever else nobody cares about.

Everybody's a critic.
