I heard rumors that Scientology bigwigs forced/pressured Issac Hayes to quit the show. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention but those Scientologists are no joke. I think they are capable of anything.

I would pretty much assume this is true. Scientology as an organization is fucking scary.

This. I've always heard the more toned down 'he just didn't agree with them making fun of his beliefs and quietly left the show' version, but with a bunch of scientology nuts, I wouldn't be surprised at all if there wasn't someone twisting his arm to leave.

I wouldn't be surprised if they threatened to declare him an SP unless he left. I also blame them for his early death--not that they killed him deliberately, but that they killed him with their "Hubbard tech" quackery.

Even if those rumors were started by people who were just making shit up, I'd be more surprised if they weren't true.
