I think Williams was trying to say that she didn't think most girls would managed to hold on to some idealized image of what virginity is. And honestly, when you're a teenager, hormones are high, you're convinced you're going to be with this other girl for the rest of your life, as long as both parties are consenting, sometimes "waiting till marriage" promises are forgotten. Besides, being experienced and being a virgin doesn't make anyone better than anyone else.

Not all virgins have held on to "some idealized image of what virginity is." Some have just never happened to have sex, and they aren't trying to make a grand statement out of it.
