Loweringthebar.net? Someone call James Cameron, we need him to raise it again.

Hey, if Texas leaves and Puerto Rico joins, we won't have to change the flag at all!

The counter-petition is hilarious. I wonder if there'll be a counter-counter petition. "Everyone who signed the 'Deport Everyone [Who] Signed a Petition to Withdraw Their State from the United States of America' petition doesn't get to eat any Texan food for the rest of their lives."

Hooray!

That's my main concern with admitting new states. I'd be glad to have Puerto Rico, but... BUT THE STARS ON THE FLAG, IT'S GOING TO BE SO SLOPPY WITH 51 NOW, OMG WHAT ARE WE--oh, there goes Texas, it's gonna be okay, all good and symmetrical again.

The constitution does allow states to merge or split into new states.

Does anyone who does't live there really know that West Virginia is its own state? Or we could smush the Dakotas or Carolinas together.

Everybody just says "Carolina" in songs, so I don't see why we can't merge that shit into one state.

South Caroline admitting another state in? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!

though if they did....Ii bet they'd STILL insist on SOUTH Carolina.

....sorry. I have Rutledge on the brain from 1776 and that's how I associate the state. >_>

Damn catchy musical.

I'm from North Carolina, so I don't know much about our southern-er cousin. But I've always wondered why it's always just "Carolina" in country songs, so why not just go ahead and lump it together?

That's what my friend says..."Why can't the Dakotas just get over their differences???"

Hey, if Texas leaves and Puerto Rico joins, we won't have to change the flag at all!

That was my first thought when I heard about the secession petition. >_> (Well, 'you', not 'we', since I'm not American, but you know what I mean.)
