I started applying for a job there once, on their website (or something similar, but I'm pretty sure it was them).

The questions just started getting weirder and weirder and I had to stop.

There's a nice locally owned store an hour away from me, but I haven't been since my friend moved to a new location and I stopped working in that town. I go to the (crappy) B&N nearby when I just want to go out to a bookstore, but usually I want to save money so I order online.

I wish we had more bookstores around here.

Could you elaborate about the weird questions (only if you feel comfortable doing so, though!)?

I don't really remember but like, after it made me put in a bunch of personal stuff that I thought was a little TOO much for a part time bookstore job, it had a questionaire like, to see how qualified you were. And I think the one that made me back out of it was like "What would you do if the cafe was getting a new cappuccino machine?" And the choices were "nothing/wait for your manager to teach you how to use it/figure it out by yourself/go home and research it on your own time". There were others too but that's the one that sticks out in my mind.

And like I said I'm not 100% sure this was BAM, I just know it was the store that opened up where our Borders used to be, and I think that was it.
