Geez, that's awkward. I wonder if you could start blocking the icons of authors who are known to do that? It may help.

There were a couple of fics I was following that while not that great didn't start to annoy me until I kept seeing the author's awkward trying to be cute but really looked creepy weird picture. Now I cringe every time I see her post anything.
