I'm not OP, but I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't. Writers using pictures of themselves/their kids/their other family members on porn!fic is... well, not common, but far more common than I'd like it to be. (I'm another one of those people who's rather uncomfortable with it, haha.)

I can totally understand being uncomfortable with it and if I had to stare at it while reading the fic I would feel mighty uncomfortable too.

I just wonder if you can't just scroll past? Do sometimes the page formats make that impossible or something?

Oh, no, I do scroll past! But I always get that initial moment of WHY D: before I frantically page down.

I can get that. Maybe you can try to block icons of authors who you know commonly do that?

I've seen some people post fills on kink memes using their personal icons. So you can scroll, but if the fill has multiple parts you'll still be seeing the icon again and again.

I suppose you could temporarily disable images or something, but it seems easier just to avoid those fills altogether. :S

If it's an icon, yeah. But I've seen layouts where they have self or family pictures on sidebars that scroll with you. Staring at you the whole time as you try to read their lovely kinky dirty porn. It's just not right.

Not directed at a specific person, per se, but it was made one day after I just snapped at yet another person doing this.

(Also scrolling is generally fine, and I generally do, but in this case I scrolled up to see what else they had written and their face was RIGHT THERE. It was just too awkward.)

I agree with this.

I don't want to know what you look like. Especially if you're ugly.

There were a couple of fics I was following that while not that great didn't start to annoy me until I kept seeing the author's awkward trying to be cute but really looked creepy weird picture. Now I cringe every time I see her post anything.
