At 17, I also thought I'd be a 25 y.o. virgin. I thought I'd be a 30 year old virgin, even. And I'm considered very attractive, or so my male friends tell me. I'm not religious, either... at all.

At 21 I was drunk and making out with a friend and one thing lead to another and we were having sex, and I hadn't planned it, and the next morning I felt no different and it even took me a while to remember that I wasn't "A Virgin" anymore. It was weird. Virginity is just... it feels like a big, huge, neon label that you want to get rid of because "OH SHIT PEOPLE THINK I'M A PRUDE" or you're just horny but don't want to fuck any other dude/gal you come across... or it could be that you're not ready at all, or that you want to wait for marriage.

But in any case, there's nothing about practicality involved.
